Prologue

It was a nice Autumn day. It wasn't that hot but it wasn't that cold either. It was just fine. The golden and red leaves were falling slowly onto the rainy floor, decorating the streets with warm colours. It had been raining for days, but it had stop in the meantime. The streets were crowded, filled with people ready to go to work, school or any other activity. The roads were filled with cars, causing a massive noise reaction with engines roaring and tires screeching on the wet floor. Ignoring the noise, the city looked frozen in time.
To avoid these annoying traffic jams, people would rather prefer the train, which was faster and it would take them to their stop.
It was a big city, simple and gray, with tall buildings which almost covered the sun. Those buildings were dull, and not interesting at all. With such boring sights of the city, people too would become dull, and simple. Most of them, dressed in black or grey, wouldn't even smile. They looked serious, and they also looked like they had woken up on the wrong side of the bed. To keep it simple, the entire city was dull and boring. Nothing exciting or new anywhere. And with this rainy weather, it made the city even more dull. The only places were this dull state couldn't reach were the parks. They looked beautiful in Autumn colours. Reds, oranges and yellows were the most common colours on these parks. With a statue or even a fountain hidden in the leaves, it made the parks look even prettier and exciting.
But this story isn't about how a city has become so dull, or even how parks look pretty not caring the seasons we're in. This story is about a boy. A boy named...

- 1 -

- So, she said what's the problem baby? What's the problem, I don't know baby, I'm in love! - The radio sang loud and clear through the room.
- Oh shut up already.

And with that said, a hand popped out of the blankets and slammed the snooze button. The hand crawled back under the blankets and with some twists followed by grunts, a boy sat in bed. His black hair was all messed up, and he looked groggy. With his dark brown eyes, he looked over the clock and blinked slowly. It was 6.30 in the morning. He yawned and slipping his feet into his slippers, he dragged himself to the bathroom. Scratching his cheek, still a little sleepy, he looked at himself at the mirror. Blinking, he stood serious. And all of a sudden he stick his tongue out while opening his eyes wide. He sighed and opened the cold water. With both hands, he splashed his face twice. It was enough for him to wake up. Back to his room, more awake than before, he got dressed. Something simple, yet fancy. Dark blue jeans, a black sweater, and simple black shoes.
His name was Seth, and he was 23 years old. He also studied in a University, taking a degree on Informatic. He was tall, and slim, with slightly dark skin. His black hair had a weird feature, it was curly on the front and straight in the back.
After taking breakfast, swinging over the laptop to check his e-mail, he got ready for Uni. Sliding his sketchbook and some pencils into his back pack, he picked his cellular phone and house keys, and left.
Walking amongst the dull crowd, he tucked his red scarf onto his neck and quickly, step after step, he made his way to the train station. It was still a train ride to the Uni, and he didn't want to lose the train. He looked over the hours on the cellular phone, but it seemed he had arrive a little early. His train still hadn't arrived and there was people everywhere. The speakers broke the annoying whispers, announcing that the train on track one was about to arrive. Seth sighed in relief and looked around. People looked all morbid and unhappy, like the world was about to end or something. He rolled his eyes and looked to the clock. It was more amusing than the people around him. Suddenly a loud noise of an engine could be heard. He instantly looked over the track, and there was his train, slowly stopping by. He got up and walked slowly, trying to avoid any insane crowd. The people around him quickly entered the train, fearing it would leave just like that. Seth looked around once again but this time something caught his eye. He saw a tiny little girl, with a short pink coat, and a scarf of the same colour. She was smiling. He was instantly hypnotized by it. She looked over to his side and saw him, making eye contact with him, and smiled. He looked surprised and before he knew it, he was inside the train already. Grabbing the metalic pole of the train, so he wouldn't lose his balance, he was speechless and thoughtless. Who was that girl? He felt like he knew her since ever and ever. Seth shook his head. Nonsense! How could he know this girl from somewhere if he never met her in his entire life? That was just wrong and plain nonsense. He dusted off his sweater and sighed looking outside to the city passing by him. It was a little dark, and one by one, the city lights were starting to turn off. The sun was starting to show his rays through the buildings. A warm and delicious sun ray lighted up his face softly, and he looked outside. The trees and all the nature around looked even more beautiful with the sun's warmth. He couldn't help to let out a small shy smile and before he knew it, he was thinking about that mysterious girl. He shook his head again. And again. And again. Passing his hand through his black hair, he thought he was going insane.

"Stop thinking about her! Stop thinking about her! Argh, why?! Why won't she get off my mind?! I don't even know her! This is ridiculous! Why am I even talking to myself?!" - He thought to himself.

Seth smacked his own forehead and sighed, looking over his hands. It had been a while since someone had caught his attention like this. He closed his eyes, resting his mind and trying to forget about that smile. But before he knew, he was already dreaming about her. He smiled in his nap and someone touched his shoulder. He woke up and a little groggy looked up to the figure who had just awaken him for that beautiful dream. It was a fat old man, with red cheeks and a messy black moustache.

- Yes? - Seth asked, a little dazed.
- Ticket please. - The old man said, sticking his chubby hand towards him.
- Oh. - He searched over his trousers pockets and gave him the ticket, slowly.

The man punched it with his little gadget, and kept on doing his work. Seth yawned loudly and looked outside the window. It appeared as he was almost arriving to his stop. He got up, picked his back pack, which he placed on his right shoulder and dusted off with one hand. The train entered another train station, and started to slow down, eventually stopping. It opened it's doors and some people got off, walking away quickly. He looked around to see if that girl was somewhere to be seen. He was about to give up when he saw a little pink, just about to disappear into a corner. He ran, holding his back pack tight and when he turned the corner where he had seen her, she was nowhere to be seen. How was that possible? Maybe she was a ghost or something like that? No. Ghosts don't exist! That's purely stupid. He shrugged, and made his way to Uni, not to be late. When he got there, he reunited with his pals from Uni, which were talking about random stuff and laughing. Seth smiled a little but wasn't even there, not even hearing a word that they were talking. His mind was set on her and her only.

- Seth! Hey man wake up! - A friend of his said, shaking his hand in front of Seth's eyes.
- What?
- Class? Like, it rang inside?
- Oh... It did?
- Yeah? Where's your head man? You look distant today.
- Sorry, I had my head in the clouds thinking in something.
- Alright. Now don't be late.

To be continued.

Amanhã há mais. Wink Fiquem bem ! *
